All India Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan Held at TMU
Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) hosted an All India Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan titled “Ye Ishq Nahi Aasaan…” at the university auditorium. The event was organised on the death anniversary of Zigar Muradabadi, the renowned poet and “Shahenshah-e-Ghazal”. The programme was presented by the Indian Sufi Foundation and Ghazal Academy with the special support of TMU.
More than 500 TMU students attended the literary evening along with deans, directors, principals, faculty members and university officials. The event brought together poets and shayars from different parts of the country.
Literary Evening Celebrated Zigar Muradabadi
The programme began with Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Madhav Sharma welcomed the guests, introduced the invited poets and shayars, and felicitated them.
Sufi Kashish Warsi, journalist and poet, formally conducted the All India Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan. Engineer Anwar Kaifi presided over the programme, while poet and shayar Rahul Sharma served as the welcome chairperson.
The poets presented works based on love, human values, peace, social concerns, emotions and Sufi traditions. Their poetry and humorous compositions created an engaging atmosphere in the auditorium.
Poets Paid Tribute to Zigar Muradabadi
The participating poets also presented their works in tribute to Zigar Muradabadi and remembered his contribution to Urdu poetry and ghazal. Dr. Ana Dehlvi, Engineer Anwar Kaifi and Sufi Kashish Warsi presented verses inspired by Zigar Muradabadi’s literary legacy. Ibrahim Ali Zeeshan from Jaipur, Rahul Sharma, Khalida Betab, Colonel Sanjay Chaturvedi, Muntazir Firozabadi and Dr. Poonam Chauhan also presented their poetry.
Aman Rampuri, Ms. Anika M, Anas Faizi and other poets added different shades of humour, love and social commentary to the evening. Their performances received applause from the audience.
TMU Students Experienced Literary Culture
The event gave TMU students an opportunity to listen to established poets and shayars and experience different forms of poetry and Urdu literature. The programme also highlighted the literary identity of Moradabad and the cultural values associated with the Ganga-Jamuni tradition.
Prof. Harvansh Dixit, Dean, Faculty of Law, TMU; NSS Coordinator Dr. Raviprakash Singh; Deepak Malik and other faculty members were also present at the event.
Conclusion
The All India Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan at TMU celebrated poetry, literature and the legacy of Zigar Muradabadi. The evening brought students, poets and literary enthusiasts together and provided students with an opportunity to connect with the rich traditions of poetry and shayari.
