3.3.3 Shared Sports Facilities

Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) actively advances SDG-3: Good Health and Well-Being by providing shared, high-quality sports facilities that promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and community engagement. TMU maintains an extensive sports infrastructure that includes an indoor stadium, cricket ground, football field, athletics track, volleyball and basketball courts, badminton halls, and a fully equipped gymnasium. These facilities are accessible not only to students across all disciplines but also to the broader community during designated hours, encouraging inclusive participation in sports and fitness activities.

The University organizes regular inter-departmental tournaments, community sports meets, and structured fitness programs that highlight the importance of physical activity as a preventive health measure. Special sports-for-health initiatives connect physical exercise with overall wellness, offering supervised training, coaching sessions, and participation opportunities for beginners and advanced players.

TMU’s standing as a sports hub is reinforced by visits from nationally renowned athletes and coaches who inspire students through live demonstrations, training clinics, and motivational interactions. The shared use of sports spaces also fosters teamwork, discipline, social bonding, and stress reduction—key components of holistic well-being.
