3.3.2 Health Outreach Programs

Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) demonstrates a strong commitment to SDG-3: Good Health and Well-Being through extensive health outreach programs that serve diverse communities across the region. TMU regularly organizes multi-specialty medical camps, dental screening camps, and diagnostic outreach services in rural, underserved, and remote areas. These camps provide free consultations, essential medicines, basic investigations, and referrals, ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to timely and affordable healthcare.

Specialized camps conducted by the Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Paramedical Colleges focus on maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, oral hygiene, geriatric care, and preventive screening. TMU’s dental outreach teams conduct fluoridation, oral hygiene education sessions, and school-based dental health programs that significantly enhance community oral health awareness.

The University also observes international health days—such as World Health Day, World Heart Day, World AIDS Day, World Oral Health Day, World No Tobacco Day, and National Nutrition Week—through awareness rallies, workshops, screenings, expert talks, and community education drives. These initiatives help disseminate critical health information and encourage healthy behaviours among the public.

TMU Hospital further strengthens outreach efforts by providing free or subsidized health services, including emergency care, surgeries, diagnostics, and maternal health services during special community initiatives. Through these wide-ranging programs, TMU continues to advance equitable healthcare access, preventive health awareness, and community well-being, strongly aligning with SDG 3.3.2.
