Our Commitment to Change
Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) advances sustainability through diverse initiatives that promote affordable energy solutions, enhance energy efficiency, and encourage responsible resource management. The University has adopted several clean-energy practices across its campus to reduce carbon emissions, conserve electricity, and promote environmental awareness among students and staff. TMU has installed solar photovoltaic panels on academic blocks and hostels, contributing significantly to the campus’s renewable energy generation and reducing dependency on non-renewable power sources.
Energy-efficient LED lighting has been implemented across the campus, replacing traditional fixtures and ensuring lower energy consumption with improved illumination. Buildings follow eco-friendly operational practices such as regulated air-conditioning, scheduled equipment usage, and periodic energy audits to monitor performance and identify avenues for further efficiency enhancements.
TMU also conducts awareness programs, workshops, and academic sessions that highlight the importance of clean energy, conservation habits, and climate-responsible behavior. The University encourages students from engineering, sciences, and allied fields to engage in research and innovation related to renewable energy technologies. Through these initiatives, TMU demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development, ensuring that clean, reliable, and affordable energy remains a core component of its institutional operations and community impact.
