Street Play on Women's Empowerment by Physiotherapy Students
Moradabad, October 2025 — The Department of Physiotherapy, Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), organised a thought-provoking street play on women's empowerment under the guidance of Dr Shipra Gangwar (PT) and Dr Priya Sharma (PT). The play was titled “Women Empowerment: From Bachpan se Swabhiman Tak” and shed light on the government’s initiatives and welfare schemes designed to support women throughout different stages of life.
Portrayal of Women’s Journey Across Life Stages
The students creatively showcased the journey of a woman beginning from infancy, childhood, and schooling years, progressing into young adulthood, career-seeking aspirations, motherhood, and responsibilities of household management, leading up to the struggles faced during old age.
Through their impactful performances, participants highlighted how government schemes and initiatives are tailored to address women’s needs at each stage of their lives. The play successfully combined awareness with creativity, making the audience reflect on the significance of empowerment, dignity, and equal opportunities for women.
Student Participation
The street play featured dynamic performances from students:
- Anika, Bhoomika, Muskan, Tanisha, Teesha, Aparna, Anshika, Garima
- Keshav, Abhinandan, Raja Yadav, Nihal Jain, Aman Raj, Ankus, and Miraj Ansari
Several volunteers also contributed to the performance, ensuring its impactful execution.
Spreading Awareness Through Art
The street play not only served as an engaging cultural presentation but also as a medium of social awareness. By connecting artistic expression with real-world issues, the Department of Physiotherapy reinforced TMU’s commitment to empowering students as responsible citizens who contribute to societal progress.
