Ignite 2025: A Vibrant Celebration of Culture, Nature, and Indian Heritage at TMU
Teerthanker Mahaveer University’s College of Computing Sciences and Information Technology (CCSIT) hosted a spectacular cultural event, Ignite 2025, centred around the theme “Beautify Nature and Preserve Indian Heritage.” The event brought together students, faculty, and special guests in a celebration that seamlessly blended creativity, tradition, and technological innovation.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, led by Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Dwivedi, Dean of CCSIT, infusing a spiritual essence into the occasion. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dwivedi explained the origin and technical relevance of the term ‘Ignite’, setting the tone for an event that would unite cultural roots with modern perspectives.
Performances that Reflected Indian Values and Environmental Consciousness
A wide array of cultural performances showcased the talent and passion of the students. Among the standout presentations:
- “Mahabharat War”, a powerful theatrical act by Atishay and Harshit, captivated the audience with its emotional depth and stagecraft.
- A graceful duet in classical dance by Ishika and Palak portrayed the rhythm and expressive essence of Indian dance heritage.
- In a moving act themed on nature conservation, Aryan Chauhan mesmerised the crowd in the role of a serpent, symbolising ecological balance.
- Manvi Kashyap presented a stirring piece titled “Sone Ki Chidiya” to reflect the richness of India’s cultural legacy.
- In the music category, Rishabh Kashyap earned accolades and won the competition with his original rap performance “Maaye”, resonating with emotional and lyrical strength.
- Atharv Verma, along with Dev on drums and Manu on keyboard, delivered an electrifying band performance that brought the musical spirit alive on stage.
Student-Led Organisation and Faculty Mentorship
Ignite 2025 stood out not only for its performances but also for the strong sense of teamwork and leadership displayed by students. Student coordinators like Nikita Olakh, Anushka Rastogi, Parth Bhatnagar, and the entire STF team ensured smooth execution of the event. The digital promotions and audiovisual presentations were expertly handled by Naman and Atishay, showcasing technical finesse.
Faculty members played a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding the participants. Coordinators Mrs. Swati Chauhan and Mr. Mohammad Saleem provided constant support throughout the event. Heads of Department—Dr. Shambhu Bhardwaj (Computer Science) and Dr. Rupal Gupta (IT) encouraged students at every step of the preparation.
The judging panel included Dr. Heena, Dr. P.K. Shah, and Dr. Preeti Rani, who evaluated the diverse entries with expert insight. The event was skilfully hosted by Jiya Singh, Ashish Upadhyay, and their team, maintaining an engaging atmosphere throughout.
