Registrations for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 are now open. The last date of registration is November 27, 2025. Interested candidates can apply through the official NTA website at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. The JEE Main session 1 exam will be held between January 21 to 30, 2026.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the exam in two sessions: Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026. For session 2, the registration period will start in the first week of February 2026.

What’s New in JEE Main 2026 Registration?
This year, NTA has changed the registration process. NTA has also issued a public notice with advisory and instructions on the documents required for JEE Main 2026 registration on its website. Now, all candidates are required to upload the following documents before they start the JEE Main 2026 registration process:
- Aadhaar Card
- UDID Card (Upon Disability)
- Category Certificate
Candidates will also be required to authenticate their identities using Aadhaar or DigiLocker in the process of registering for JEE Main 2026 this year.

JEE Main 2026 Application Process
- The official application form for JEE Main is available at NTA’s official website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
- The form for session 1 is now open
- You are advised to check the website regularly for new updates.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1:
You are required to register for the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application Number. You must fill out the application form and create a password. After the successful submission of the personal details, an Application number will be generated (system-generated JEE Main 2026 application number).
This number will be used for completing the remaining Steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future reference/correspondence. It will be used for both Sessions of JEE (Main) - 2026. For subsequent logins, the candidate will be able to log in directly with the respective system-generated Application Number.
Step 2:
Now, you can log in with the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password for completing the Application Form, including filling up personal details, applying for the Paper. You have to choose the Examination Cities and provide the details of your Educational Qualifications, and upload the images and documents such as marksheet and signature.
Step 3:
After completing the application process, you are requested to pay the necessary examination fees. The charges will be paid exclusively via the online system via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card and UPI. The candidates have to pay the processing charges and GST, as applicable by the relevant Bank /Payment Gateway Integrator, to the candidates on addition to the examination fees.
Step 4:
Upon successful payment successful candidate can print the Confirmation Page. If the Confirmation Page is not generated, then the transaction is cancelled, and the candidates have to seek a refund of the amount from the concerned bank. However, you are advised to make another payment/transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not received.

Advisory and Instructions of NTA
NTA has released a public notice of advisory and instruction on the updation of the Aadhaar Card/ UDID Card/ Category Certificate (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL). You are advised to ensure that the following documents are updated well in advance/ before applying for the JEE (Main)-2026:
- Aadhaar Card- Aadhaar Card- Aadhaar Card should be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father's name.
- UDID Card- UDID card stands for Persons with Disabilities card. It should be valid, updated and renewed.
- Category Certificate- The category certificate (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) should be updated and valid.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the JEE Main 2026, you have to match the following criteria:
Educational Qualification
- For JEE Main 2026, you must have passed the 10+2 from a recognised board.
- There is no criterion for minimum marks required for JEE Main, but a minimum of 75% marks is required for admission to IIT.
- The core subjects should be Physics and Mathematics.
- You are also required to study additional subjects like Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology.
