Patent-o-Mania – A workshop organized by Pharmacy College “Patent-o-Mania”, a two days workshop, was organized by Teerthanker Mahaveer College of pharmacy in collaboration with Path Servicez, New Delhi on 14th & 15th October 2011. The workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Suresh Jain, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad and the technical sessions were declared opened by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. R. M. Mittal. Key resource persons who stirred the discussion in the two days workshop included; Ms. Neha valgaria             Patent Analysis Ms. Shubhagha Sharma    Patent Analysis Ms. Avi Sharma patent      Attorney Mr. Abhinav Sharma         Business Development Manager All above-mentioned resource persons discussed the different dimensions of patenting especially in the context of pharmaceutical industry. Prof. R. K. Mittal, Vice Chancellor in his introductory remark stressed upon the need for strict implementation of patent laws in India for promoting innovations. Dr. R. K. Mudgal, Registrar, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, emphasized the need of good quality research in academics and imparting global recognition to the researcher(s) and organization(s) by patenting the methodology adopted therein in products and formulation produced, innovated technologies and instruments employed therein. The speakers from Path Servicez interacted with the participating students and faculty members on several technical aspects of the subject. Prof. K.K. Jha, Director, College of Pharmacy, presented brief review of the ongoing research activities of the college and revealed with confidence that seven formulations are ready for patenting.
